CPC Module 4 Training and Test

The CPC Module 4 is the 4th module of your initial CPC. The completion of your initial CPC  entitles you to your first 5 years of driver CPC (certificate of professional competence) You must pass all 4 modules before you are issued with a DQC or drivers qualification card. The 4 modules are;

Module 1 Theory and Hazard Perception test. This is conducted at your local theory test centre.

Module 2 CPC Case Studies. This is conducted at your local theory test centre.

Module 3 (now 3a and 3b) 3a is an off road manoeuvres test and 3b is your on road driving test.

Module 4 Practical Demonstration Test. We are able to train and conduct these tests at our site in Gosport Hampshire as we have our very own DVSA Approved Assessor. 

The course is 3 hours long which consists of 2.5 hours of training and then 30 minutes for the Module 4 Examination. It is a practical demonstration test and therefore some answers may need to be physically demonstrated.

You’re tested on being able to:

Load the vehicle following safety rules and to keep it secure.
Stop trafficking in illegal immigrants.
Assess emergency situations.
Reduce physical risks to yourself or others.
Do a walkaround vehicle safety check


The test is made up of 5 topics from the Driver CPC syllabus which can be found here.

You can score up to 20 points for each topic.

To pass you have to score at least 15 out of 20 in each topic area and have an overall score of at least 80 out of 100.
