Having pre-employment assessments in our opinion is vital. A driver with a Category C or C+E licence isn’t necessarily a good driver and should have their driving ability checked especially when you consider that all other areas of suitability are checked when employed, why shouldn’t driving be also?

One Hour Assessment
Road drive looking at vehicle handling, driver observation, road positioning, vehicle care, interactions with road signs and other road users.

Option 2
Two Hour Assessment
Daily walk around checks to ensure compliance,
Un-coupling and re-coupling of the tractor unit and trailer to ensure full safety and correct procedure.
One hour road drive looking at vehicle handling, driver observation, road positioning, vehicle care, interactions with road signs and other road users.
Reversing onto a bay or within the yard where safety and space permits.

Other Assessments
Employee Driver Assessments and remedial training.
Our rates are £35.00 per hour using your vehicle or £80.00 per hour using our vehicle.
The options are limitless. We can come in and assess your drivers over any competency, Tachograph use, Walk around checks, Reversing, Uncoupling, Recoupling or simply looking at their general driving ability. Any shortcomings can either be reported to you and your team and/or we can offer support and advice to the driver on how to improve their skills.
An improved driver attitude will help towards, unnecessary wear and tear to the vehicles and trailers, can help towards avoiding damage caused on the road (tyres, brakes, street furniture, other vehicles) and ultimately help to maintain your company image and reduce overall costs including fuel usage. The 2 hour assessment is a good model for this unless you require a specific focus, for example just road driving.
